After a 2011 season that saw its fair share of ups and downs, the N.C. State Wolfpack look for more consistency as they prepare for their season opener on Friday against Tennessee in the 2012 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.
In his article in the Charlotte News-Observer, Joe Giglio notes that for every step forward the Wolfpack took last year, they took an equal step back with frustrating losses. N.C. State head coach Tom O'Brien knows that you can't lose focus at any point in the season,
"You can’t ride the roller coaster and be so high one week and so low the next,"
Wolfpack center Cam Wentz knows that although its easy to talk about consistency, performing on a high level every week is much harder,
"(Consistency) is harder than it sounds. It’s not because guys aren’t taking it seriously, it’s just human nature. Hopefully, as a year older, we’ll be able to handle the emotional swings better."
The Wolfpack hope that consistency begins Friday night at the Georgia Dome.
