Georgia Football Fall Practice: Mark Beard Hopes To Join Offensive Line Discussion

The picture of what Georgia's offensive line will look like this season is becoming clearer and junior college transfer Mark Beard is hoping to earn some playing time.

Currently Beard is listed as the second team left guard behind Dallas Lee but he may not actually be that close to playing. If Lee didn't start the Bulldogs could opt to shift Kenarious Gates or Watts Dantzler inside and play freshman John Theus at tackle.

Offensive line coach Will Friend previously indicated that the Bulldogs were looking for six or seven lineman to have game ready by the time the season starts. Currently their appears to be six and Beard is hoping to join that group but it appears he still has some ground to make up.

"He's done some things better," Friend said. "He's still got to improve and the speed of the game has got to catch him. We've got to improve on that."
