PGA Championship Leaderboard 2012: Low Scores Predominate In Round 1

The Ocean Club has been very forgiving in the first round of the 2012 PGA Championship, as 47 golfers are currently below par at the course on South Carolina's Kiawah Island.

Sweden's Carl Pettersson is in the clubhouse with an early lead at -6, one shot ahead of Gary Woodland and Rory McIlory at -5.

The biggest story has been John Daly, the long-time fan favorite who hasn't been in contention at a major in years but is in a tie for 4rth place at -4.

Tiger Woods is in a tie for 8th at -3, as TV executives are likely doing flips at the possibilities of a weekend where both Woods and Daly are in contention.

Thursday wasn't as kind for Phil Mickelson, who finished the day at +1, or Bubba Watson, one shot behind Mickelson at +2.
