The Atlanta Braves open up a three-game series against the suddenly hot Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night, as the Brew Crew try to crawl back into the National League playoff picture.
Milwaukee did Atlanta a bit of a favor this weekend, by taking two of three from the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals trail the Braves by five games in the loss column for the first wild card spot, thanks in part to Milwaukee.
Now on Monday, the Braves will look to squash Milwaukee's slim playoff hopes.
Both Fredi Gonzalez and Ron Roenicke have announced Monday's starting lineups, and they are as follows:
Atlanta Braves
CF Michael Bourn
LF Martin Prado
RF Jason Heyward
3B Chipper Jones
1B Freddie Freeman
2B Dan Uggla
C Brian McCann
SS Andrelton Simmons
SP Mike Minor
Milwaukee Brewers
RF Norichika Aoki
CF Carlos Gomez
LF Ryan Braun
3B Aramis Ramirez
2B Rickie Weeks
C Martin Maldonado
1B Travis Ishikawa
SS Jeff Bianchi
SP Wily Peralta
Milwaukee's starting pitcher, Peralta, was widely regarded as the Brew Crew's top prospect headed into the season, prior to the Zack Greinke trade.
