Virginia Vs. Georgia Tech: A Few Yellow Jackets Are On The Mend

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were able to move past their heartbreaking overtime loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies by pounding on the Presbyterian Blue Hose 59-3.

Now, head coach Paul Johnson's group is preparing for their contest on Saturday against the Hokies' interstate counterpart, the Virginia Cavaliers.

Georgia Tech comes into this week relatively healthy but with some injury issues to keep a close eye on, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Inside linebacker Daniel Drummond and safety Fred Holton both missed Monday's work. Drummond couldn't go after re-injuring an ankle sprain against Presbyterian, while Holton has missed both of the games so far with a foot ailment.

David Sims practiced, but wore red due to a stress fracture in his shin. Sims played against Virginia Tech, but was on the sidelines for the win over the Blue Hose. Going forward, Johnson isn't sure about Sims's status.

"I don’t know if he’ll play," Johnson said of Sims. "If we had to play [Monday], he couldn’t."
