Behind guard Angel McCoughtry's 23 points and forward Erika de Souza's eight rebounds, the Atlanta Dream grabbed their second straight victory with a 77-61 victory over the Seattle Storm on Tuesday night.
As the WNBA season draws to a close, the Dream are on the verge of clinching a playoff spot, and their convincing victory over playoff-bound Seattle helps Atlanta to come within either another victory or a Chicago Sky loss of clinching a spot. The Sky were in action Tuesday night.
The Dream were able to hold the Storm below 14 points in three of the four quarters, a defensive effort that helped them complete the victory. Storm forward Lauren Jackson was strong, contributing 14 points and nine rebounds, but her output was kept in check by the Dream, who were able to hold off a third-quarter Storm outburst.
With three road games remaining in their regular season schedule, the Dream will look to close out the season strong while on the road.
