The Atlanta Braves look to rebound from a 5-0 loss and extend their lead in the National League Wild Card race Wednesday as they send Paul Maholm to the mound to take on the Milwaukee Brewers in the final game of a three-game set at Miller Park in Milwaukee at 8:10 p.m. EST.
Despite dropping two straight to the Brewers, the Braves maintained a solid lead in the Wild Card race in the National League, sitting five games ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals for the better of the two available Wild Card spots.
In his last start against the New York Mets, Maholm blanked the Mets over 5.1 innings in a 3-0 Braves victory.
The Brewers counter on Wednesday with Yovani Gallardo, who was strong in his last start — going six innings and giving up just two earned to the Cardinals earlier this month.
Time and Date: September 12, 8:10 p.m. at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisc.
