Jarvis Jones Earns More Player Of The Week Honors

Georgia outside linebacker Jarvis Jones continues to rack up the hardware this week after a dominant performance in the Bulldogs' 41-20 win over Missouri.

After earning Walter Camp player of the week and the Southeastern Conference defensive player of the week honors earlier in the week, Jones, who picked up nine tackles, two sacks and an interception against the Tigers, added the Chuck Bednarik player of the week and Bronko Nagurski player of the week awards Tuesday, according to the Athens Banner-Herald.

The plethora of early-season recognition has some people talking about a possible run at the Heisman Trophy for the 6'3', 241-pound junior.

"I never thought about that one," Jones told the Banner-Herald. "That would be big. I'm doing everything I can in a team form and everything I've got in preparation ... Just to be in New York, man, it would be a great accomplishment. It's hard for defensive players to get that award. Just to be up among some of the Heisman finalists, that would be a great accomplishment for me."

Through two games this season, Jones has recorded 17 tackles, 3.5 sacks and one interception.
