Florida Atlantic Vs. Georgia: Jay Rome Waiting For Opportunity

Georgia Bulldogs tight end Jay Rome is the only tight end on the team with a reception so far this season. One reception for 15 yards against Missouri last week is all that's is in the stat book, but Rome knows that he'll get his chance soon enough:

Whenever it's thrown our way, we're going to catch it. We're going to do whatever we have to do for the team whether it's blocking or going out for a pass. We're just going to keep playing as hard as we can and fall into the game plan.

Rome understands that while catching passes and scoring touchdowns is part of the job of being a tight end, he takes pride in blocking for the running backs:

It's always feels good to catch balls and catch some touchdowns. I mean that's fun - it's part of the game.Getting the key blocks for our running backs is also a key part of the game and it's something that has to be done and it's something we take pride in doing.

The Bulldogs play the Florida Atlantic Owls on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
