Florida Atlantic Vs. Georgia: Chase Vasser Set To Return

Georgia linebacker Chase Vasser will return from a two-game suspension when the Bulldogs take on the Florida Atlantic Owls at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night. Vasser was suspended for two games following a DUI arrest back in May.

Bulldogs defensive coordinator Todd Grantham spoke about Vasser on Thursday and he is glad to have the versatile linebacker back in the fold, as reported by the Athens Banner-Herald:

"He does add a little bit of coverage and pass rush dimension to our backer corps. So it’s always good to get those kind of guys back. So you can have different packages for third down."

Vasser recorded 16 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss while playing in all 12 games for Georgia in 2011. The redshirt junior recorded three starts as as sophomore and was expected to line up as the starter at the SAM outside linebacker spot for the Bulldogs 2012.

The Owls will provide the only tune-up for Vasser, as SEC play for Georgia begins the following week against Vanderbilt.
