Ivan Johnson Reportedly Signs Qualifying Offer With Hawks

Power forward Ivan Johnson has reportedly agreed to sign the qualifying offer issued to him in July by the Hawks which will keep him in an Atlanta uniform for the 2012-13 season. By extending the offer, the Hawks had the right to somewhat match any team's offer to him.

Johnson burst on the scene last season as an virtual unknown 28-year old rookie. After coming to training camp on a non-guaranteed deal, Johnson earned his way onto the 2012 roster beating out former second-round picks Keith Benson and Pape Sy.

Despite being listed at 6-foot-8, Johnson arguably was the Hawks best big man off the bench and at times was the team's backup center. Johnson appeared in 56 games for Atlanta during the 2011 season and finished with averages of 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
