Despite it being just the third week of the college football season, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are already under a lot of pressure to score a victory against a major opponent. After a season-opening loss to Virginia Tech in overtime, a 59-3 drubbing of Presbyterian the following Saturday was almost meaningless.
That was supposed to happen.
But on Saturday, the Ramblin' Wreck takes on a Virginia Cavaliers football squad that is 2-0 in the ACC and coming off a close win against Penn State in Week 2. Georgia Tech can ill-afford to go 0-2 in the conference, and playing at home in Bobby Dodd Stadium certainly plays to their advantage in what is essentially a must-win game for them.
Adding to the gravity of the game, the Yellow Jackets will also be looking for a little revenge against the Cavaliers after last season's 24-21 defeat in Charlottesville. Virginia ran for 274 yards in that game and held the ball for 30 minutes.
