Vanderbilt Vs. Georgia: James Franklin Respects Todd Grantham, Bulldogs' Defense

Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin and Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham got into a heated shouting match in the aftermath of last year's meeting between the two schools. On Monday, Franklin was asked if he'd spoken with Grantham since the incident, and Franklin took the opportunity to let everyone know that he respects Grantham and the Bulldogs' defense.

"We saw each other and most of the assistants on the road recruiting. He does a great job and has done a great job for a long time," Franklin said. "His defense plays hard and flies around. They're passionate about what they do and we're passionate about what we do. It's nothing more than that. I do have respect for how his defense plays."

Last season's incident occurred following an emotional 33-28 win by the Bulldogs. Players from both sides had to be separated after the game, which is how Franklin and Grantham ended up sparring.
