After losing one starting cornerback (Brent Grimes) to injury after Week 1, Atlanta can ill afford to lose more secondary depth. For the time being, they'll be without another corner:
INJURY UPDATE: CB Chris Owens with a rib injury. His return is questionable. Falcons now with two CBs injured in 1st Q (Samuel). #atlden12

This comes after starting corner Asante Samuel was injured on Atlanta's last defensive series and left with a neck injury. Samuel's replacement, Robert McClain, intercepted Peyton Manning several plays later. Samuel did return on Atlanta's next series and made a crucial tackle on third-and-five to force a Denver punt.
Owens played mostly nickel corner in the Falcons' season-opening win in Kansas City and was set to see an expanded role in Grimes' absence.
