Vanderbilt Vs. Georgia: Amarlo Herrera Continues To Exceed Expectations

Georgia inside linebacker Amarlo Herrera is technically a backup to Alec Ogletree, who is considered to be one of Georgia's best defensive talents.

But Ogletree has missed Georgia's first three games, and will miss one more, because of a disciplinary suspension. That's where Herrera comes in.

So far this season Herrera has done it all. Last weekend against Florida Atlantic, the sophomore managed seven tackles and returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown. The week before, he led his team with 10 tackles against Missouri and recovered a fumble.

With Ogletree expected to return next week, Herrera could find himself out of the starting lineup. Says Herrera,

"I've found myself in a strange situation. You've got a starter that's not playing and he's expected to come back and start. So you never know, but I can't concern myself with all that. I'm just trying to produce and help us win."
