Vanderbilt Vs. Georgia: Malcolm Mitchell Still Primarily On Defense

Early season suspensions made it a necessity to put Malcolm Mitchell on defense, but as those players return, Mitchell's role is up in the air. On Tuesday, head coach Mark Richt weighed in on the situation.

Richt said Mitchell will play mostly defense for now but could become a two-way player.

"I know he’s smart enough to understand what’s going on on both sides of the ball with the experience he’s had. We need him on special teams too. He’s going to play offense, defense and special teams off and on for the rest of the year I would think."

After missing the opener, Mitchell has recorded seven tackles in two games as a cornerback. A season ago, he had 665 yards and four touchdowns as a receiver.
