Georgia Football Recruiting 2013: Derrick Henry Sets Announcement Date

Derrick Henry is a five-star running back in the Class of 2013 that was committed to the University of Georgia for over a year. He de-committed in June to re-open his recruitment.

Henry will now make his announcement between Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia on Sept. 28, according to BamaOnline.com.

Henry is a 6'3", 240-pound rusher from Yulee, Fla., and has racked up a staggering 8,211 rushing yards and 102 touchdowns in his career so far at Yulee High School.

From the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Henry told the website that "Alabama’s still leading, and Tennessee is right there." He plans to attend Tennessee’s home game against Florida on Sept. 15 to get a good feel what Rocky Top is like during football season.

What about UGA? Henry picked the Bulldogs last summer at Dawg Night, stayed committed for nearly a year, and backed off his pledge in June. UGA appears to be third in a three-horse race, but Henry is close friends with UGA QB commit Brice Ramsey of Camden County and attended his game on Friday night.

Henry has now rushed for at least 100 yards in 33 consecutive games for Yulee.
