Vanderbilt Vs. Georgia: Wide Receiver Depth Key For Bulldogs

Through their first three games, the Georgia Bulldogs have done an impressive job of spreading the wealth in their passing game. Michael Bennett, Marlon Brown, Tavarres King, and Rantavious Wooten have all managed to find the end zone before the Bulldogs open SEC conference play on Saturday against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo thinks that having a deep group of wideouts without a clear star, like former Dawg A.J. Green, is preferable to having defenses key in on one player.

"I think most definitely we like to have as many weapons as we can have. That's why I keep (being) ready to have 26 back. That's another weapon," Bobo said of Mitchell, with a grin.

Malcolm Mitchell, who was moved from wide receiver to defensive back in the spring, is expected to play some snaps on offense as well as defense. Mitchell caught one pass for 49 yards against Florida Atlantic, and as Bobo alluded to, his role in the offense should increase as the season progresses.
