Kelsey Griffin Commits To Georgia Football Over South Carolina

After a lull in recruiting, the Georgia Bulldogs landed the commitment of defensive tackle Kelsey Griffin on Friday, according to The Telegraph (Macon, GA). Griffin is from Hochston, GA, and is rated as a four star prospect by Rivals. He's rated as the 12th best defensive tackle prospect in the nation, and 144th overall. Griffin chose the Dawgs over South Carolina, and joins another in-state prospect, DeAndre Johnson, as the second DT commitment in Georgia's 2013 class.

Griffin is the 26th member of Georgia's 2013 recruiting class. SEC regulations limit schools to signing only 25 players a year, but early enrollees can be backdated to the year before. Griffin is Georgia's 16th in-state commitment in 2013.

Georgia is currently ranked seventh in Rivals 2013 recruiting class rankings, and fourth in the SEC behind LSU (third), Florida (fifth), and Alabama (sixth).
