The Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever are no strangers to each other come playoff time, as the Dream eliminated the Fever during last year's conference finals. The two meet again as Atlanta starts its quest for a third straight WNBA Finals appearance with tonight's Game 1 of the WNBA Eastern Conference semifinals in Indianapolis.
Atlanta, the conference's No. 3 seed, is looking to make its third straight trip to the WNBA Finals. The Dream lost the season series to the Fever three games to two, and they'll have to tangle with Indiana's seven-time All-Star, Tamika Catchings, the league's all-time leader in steals and free throws made.
The Dream counter with their own superstar, Angel McCoughtry, who became the first Atlanta player to lead the league in scoring with 21.4 points per game while also leading the league in steals at 2.5 per game.
The series winner will face the winner of the Connecticut Sun-New York Liberty series, which Connecticut leads 1-0, in the Eastern Conference finals.
Tonight's game will be televised live nationally on ESPN2 from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indiana at 7 p.m. ET.
