Tim Hudson may be scratched from his scheduled start against the Pittsburgh Pirates, reports David O'Brien at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Kris Medlen is scheduled to start the wild card playoff game on Oct. 5, and if the Braves win then Hudson would be available for the start of the Division Series. If the Braves have worked their way into contending for the division title, the above would not occur and Hudson would make his scheduled start. Hudson has had an extremely strong year for the club, posting a 16-6 record with a 3.61 ERA.
Other Braves news from O'Brien includes an update on Michael Bourn's injury. Bourn injured his hand sliding head-first into second base last Saturday. A second MRI on the hand showed no structural damage, but the team elected to keep the center fielder out of the lineup to ensure a full recovery. Reed Johnson has been playing for O'Brien and did so again Friday night.
