Todd Gurley has recently drawn praise from Georgia coach Mark Richt not only for his work on the field, but in the classroom. Gurley was dominant in last Saturday's season opener when he rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns while also returning a kickoff 100 yards for a score. Gurley also has recently received A's in the classroom according to Richt:
"He has a good attitude and he doesn’t seem to have any type of entitlement issues," Richt said. "But if a guy starts having a lot of success early, it can maybe change him or make him feel too comfortable, too. I haven’t sat down with him and talked, but we will keep an eye on him."
Richt went on to say that despite Gurley's performance, Ken Malcolme is still the starting tailback. Georgia opens SEC play this Saturday at Missouri, and Malcome is also battling a wrist injury sustained against Buffalo.
