Georgia Vs. Missouri: Austin Long Eager To Contribute

Austin Long's career with the Georgia Bulldogs hasn't gone exactly according to plan. He was the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee and one of the most highly touted offensive line prospects in the nation coming out of high school, but the redshirt junior has been sidelined by injuries almost since he stepped on campus in Athens.

As a result, the 6-foot-5, 325-pound offensive lineman has only played in three career games. But with both John Theus and Watts Dantzler dealing with injuries, Long may end up starting against the Missouri Tigers on Saturday:

"It's a big motivator," Long said. "Coming here I always wanted to start. To be able to start in such a big game as this, the first SEC game against Missouri, it's an honor. I'm looking forward to it.

Depth along the line of scrimmage is one of the main advantages the SEC has over the rest of the country; new conference member Missouri probably didn't see too many former high-school All-Americans on the third string in the Big 12.
