The Atlanta Braves open a three-game series in Queens on Friday against the New York Mets. The Braves send left-hander Paul Maholm to the mound. Maholm was brilliant in his last outing against the Mets, throwing a three-hit shutout on Aug. 10. The Braves won that game, 4-0.
Jon Niese was great in his last outing against the Braves on Aug. 12. He pitched eight innings of six-hit, one-run ball in a game the Mets held on to win, 6-5.
