NASCAR At Richmond: Severe Weather In Mid-Atlantic Threatens Tonight's Race

A severe storm cell moving through Virginia has spawned a tornado in Fairfax, VA. While that isn't in the immediate area of Richmond International Raceway, that cell and a much larger one closing in behind it will almost certainly delay if not postpone tonight's Federated Auto Parts 400. In the aftermath of the tragedy at Pocono, when fans were injured by lightning after the race - one fatally - don't be surprised if NASCAR and the brass at RIR are pro-active and postpone the race even before the green flag is scheduled for the safety of the spectators. If it looks like severe weather is going to play a role, there will be no playing around. Brian Neudorff is keeping track of the whole situation. Follow him on Twitter and keep a check on his website to know what is going on. As soon as NASCAR makes an announcement of any kind, we will have it posted for you.
