Georgia Tech's 59-3 win over Presbyterian gave the Yellow Jackets the opportunity to get the starters out of the game early and to protect some players that were already nursing injuries.
B-back David Sims sat out the game as he continues to recover from a stress fracture in his shin. Sims played in the Yellow Jackets opener against Virginia Tech but sat out this week's game because of precautionary reasons.
A high ankle sprain kept tackle Morgan Bailey out of the game after he was unable to practice throughout the week. Paul Johnson had listed Bailey as questionable throughout the week.
Running back Orwin Smith banged up his shoulder in the loss to Virginia Tech and played sparingly against Presbyterian. Smith carried the ball one time for a loss of two yards and returned a kick 17 yards before exiting.
