SB Nation's Dan Kadar and Matthew Fairburn released a joint mock draft on Monday. In it, they have the Falcons selecting LSU defensive end Sam Montgomery in the first round. Kadar sees this pick as an eventual replacement for John Abraham:
The Falcons need to add some youth to their defense and will have a good opportunity to find a very good lineman in the first round. Montgomery is a player who barely tapped his potential at LSU. At 34, John Abraham is near the end of his career.
Atlanta also has needs at running back and tight end, with Michael Turner a possible cap casualty and Gonzalez set n retirement. Guys like Eddie Lacy, Zach Ertz and Tyler Eifert could all be available at this spot.
