NBA All-Star Weekend 2013: Hawks not represented on Eastern Conference team

With plenty of festivities set to begin in Houston on Friday, the city of Atlanta will not be represented well.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The midway point in the NBA season is here, which means a weekend of All-Star Game festivities is right around the corner. This year, the Atlanta Hawks, who are currently the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 28-22 record, will not have any representatives.

The Hawks had no players named to the Eastern Conference team. They do not have any participants in the dunk contest or the 3-pointer contest. No players were named to the Rising Stars Game, either. The full East roster can be found here.

As for the events that will take place in Houston this weekend, here is a schedule.

Friday:

At 7 p.m. ET, the Celebrity Game will begin on ESPN. At 9 p.m., the Rising Stars Game will be played over on TNT.

Saturday:

The D-League All-Star Game is set for 3 p.m. on NBA TV. The dunk contest will take place at halftime. Then, at 8:30 p.m., the NBA skills portion will begin. First up is the Shooting Stars event, followed by the Skills Challenge. Then comes the Three-Point Contest. The Slam Dunk Contest will wrap up the night. All of these festivities will be aired on TNT.

Sunday:

The 2013 All-Star Game is set to tip off at 8 p.m. TNT will have the coverage. Last year, the West won in thrilling fashion, knocking off the East by a score of 152-149.
