The Atlanta Falcons entered the offseason with needs at running back, defensive line and secondary. They addressed one of those needs by signing Steven Jackson, and could be looking at the draft to upgrade their cornerback position.
SB Nation's Matthew Fairburn released his latest mock draft on Monday. In it, he has the Falcons selecting Washington CB Demond Trufant with the 30th overall pick:
Brent Grimes and Dunta Robinson are no longer with the Falcons, so the team could use a young cornerback to inject the secondary with some talent. Desmond Trufant shined at the Senior Bowl and would provide solid value at the bottom of round one.
Trufant's stock has been rising in recent weeks, and he's now considered a first rounder in most draft circles -- Mocking The Draft has him ranked as the fourth best CB behind Dee Milliner, Xavier Rhodes and Logan Ryan.
Of course, the Falcons still need pass rushing help after releasing John Abraham. Datone Jones is a strong possibility to get taken by Atlanta if he falls to No. 30.
