Derek Lowe still looks strong after completing his second inning on the mound, beginning with a strikeout of Buster Posey (who has obviously been a tough out this series) before retiring the annoying Pat Burrell on a fly ball to center. He went to 3-0 on Burrell before coming back to get him. He then finished off his second straight one, two, three inning with a strikeout of Juan Uribe on a slider.
Still, it took him 19 pitches, and on three days rest he may not have as many bullets in his arm to begin with. I’d be surprised if he gets up to 100 pitches tonight. Hopefully the third will go by even easier as he faces the bottom of the Giants’ line-up. Derek Lowe is currently at 29 pitches on the evening.
