Derek Lowe continues to breeze right along, chopping down the bottom half of the Giants line-up easily in order. He needed only 12 pitches to end the third inning, getting him through three innings having thrown only 41 pitches. He struck out two, and the only real struggle he had was after he got ahead of Bumgarner 0-2, where he threw three straight pitches out of the zone that Bumgarner didn’t chase.
In order not to jinx anything, I won’t say it right out loud, but Lowe has been a certain P word through the first time down the Giants’ line-up.
