Buster Posey bounced to third to lead off the fifth inning and we got to see Troy Glaus’ arm for the first time tonight. Glaus fired a strike over to first, on target and with plenty of juice. That alleviated one worry about his defense, though his lack of range is still going to be an issue for as long as he’s out there.
Lowe struck out Burrell on three pitches, then retired Uribe on one pitch to quickly get out of the fifth inning, throwing only six pitches all told. Five Innings, six strikeouts, and in one important regard, this is resembling that Roy Halladay start that we’ve heard so much about (you know what I’m saying?). Lowe’s pitch count is at 63 through five. Keep it going!
