Braves-Giants NLDS Game 4 Score: 3-2 Middle Eighth

Jonny Venters remained out for the start of the 8th inning, and Edgar Renteria immediately punished him with an infield single as Alex Gonzalez couldn’t throw him out from deep in the hole. The Giants have not hit a lot of balls hard tonight, but they’ve gotten good results. Fortunately, the Braves came clean out of this inning.

Torres became the Giants’ 10 strike out victim of the night, then Gonzalez and Infante combined to turn a slick double play to neutralize Renteria and the send the Braves to the bottom of the eighth still down just one. Venters was good for five outs tonight as the Braves hope to give the ball to Kimbrel with the lead for the ninth.
