Braves Down 4-0 Through Seven

Poor defense and perhaps tired pitching allowed the Phillies to bat around in the seventh inning, putting up four runs on the Braves. Johnny Venters wasn’t hit very hard, but the ground balls were hit in the right places (in one game, that place was directly into the glove of Brooks Conrad). Brooks struck out in his opportunity to redeem himself in the bottom half, and the Braves failed to even get a baserunner. With six outs left in the game, the Braves need to get four runs for a tie.

The Giants just grounded into a double play to end the 9th inning, foiling their comeback bid with a 4-2 loss.
