Per the Atlanta Braves twitter account:
Braves
Martin Prado's MRI and exam revealed a hip pointer and also a torn oblique muscle. Will need 2 months complete rest.
This is obviously terrible news to the team. Martin Prado was not hitting well, but he was certainly a player worthy of playing every day at third base. He had a few injuries that he was battling with, some of which may have lead to further injuries, but he was still a better player offensively and defensively than any of the potential replacements.
This likely means that Brooks Conrad will wind up playing close to every day. The club discussed Troy Glaus, but his limited range at third is far too worrisome. This is bad news both for the Braves chances at getting to the post-season and winning the World Series.
