Falcons: You've heard about the NHL's Guardian Project marketing campaign, which involves promoting teams by commissioning comic book-style images for each? Apparently the NFL had the same idea a few years ago. But here's where it gets good: the league wanted to use specific players, and not just representations of team mascots.
↵They wanted to use Falcons QB Michael Vick as the centerpiece, but Marvel Comics had reservations -- using specific athletes could wind up being embarrassing since athletes sometimes do stupid things without notice.
