Atlanta Braves Pitchers Julio Teheran, Mike Minor Ranked High On Prospect Lists

Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com will unveil his top 50 prospects on Jan. 25, but until then we get a couple top 10s, both of which include a Brave.

The top 10 RHP list has Julio Teheran at No. 2, behind Jeremy Hellickson. This is the right spot for Teheran and shows that he is among the top three pitching prospects in baseball.

↵

The top 10 LHP list has Mike Minor at No. 4. This shows how high Minor has climbed since the draft. In no way would he be ranked in the top five just a year ago, and the top 10 out of the draft. Minor is penciled in the No. 5 spot in the rotation this season and everyone expects him to stick.

Mark Bowman at Braves.com has another prospect profile to go with the prospect camp theme. It is a great piece on Teheran, including quotes from Frank Wren comparing him to Pedro Martinez. By accounts, Teheran has filled out some this year and is broader across the shoulders, which is great to hear. The more strength, the better considering that was a bit of a concern going forward.

Bowman adds another piece on Bobby Cox making an appearance and speech at the prospect camp. There is no doubt that his presence and words made an impact on the players. The quotes by the prospects are awesome.
