2011 Braves Caravan Announced; Adam LaRoche Signs With Nationals

Forgive me while I catch up on links involving the 2011 Braves Caravan and some former Braves in the news.

Talking Chop has the skinny on the 2011 Braves Caravan, which was recently announced. The post has all the dates, locations and times, so be sure to bookmark it for future reference. Luckily they are heading back my way for another year, so a few more autographs are in my future.

The Nationals have signed Adam LaRoche to a two-year deal worth $7 million in 2011, $8 million in 2012 and a $10 million mutual option/$1 million buyout in 2013. It's tough giving LaRoche a multi-year deal at this point, but the Nationals probably consider this a win for not having to go three guaranteed years. Baby steps. It looks like we'll be seeing the lovable loopy lefty quite often for a few years.

The Yankees are considering Andruw Jones, according to Jon Heyman. Depending on the deal, I think it could work well for whoever signs him. He's not meat yet.

The Brewers signed former Braves prospect Brandon Jones (Brew Crew Ball's notes). Jones was heralded as a Braves minor leaguer, but a combination of no opportunities and a lack of a valuable skill put him on the backburner. He hasn't reached the majors since a brief stint with the Braves in 2009. He has toiled in the minors between the Pirates and Tigers since.
