The Braves got a little extra boost from ESPN.com's Keith Law today. After ranking them as the third best system in baseball, and having Julio Teheran ranked as the top pitcher on his Top 100, he has given Freddie Freeman a little love.
↵Law ranks Freeman as the No. 1 impact prospect in the majors in 2011. He states that Freeman is "the only rookie position player in the majors who has a full-time job locked down, and his history of making contact and hitting for average with good doubles power in the minors bodes well for his transition to the majors." Can't argue with that.
↵I also can't argue with what he says after that, stating that there is some risk in giving a 21-year-old who doesn't walk a ton a full-time job out of spring. But 2010 showed that Freeman is as ready as he will ever be, and he deserves the shot he is getting. It will be interesting to see how he handles Spring Training.
↵Camp McDowell began today, and David O'Brien posted a series of tweets from the camp, mostly involving Chipper Jones. One in particular is him knocking the cover off the ball.
