Baseball Prospectus predicts the NL East, according to PECOTA. I actually don't agree with the Phillies' expected 91 wins. Their weaknesses on offense may get exploited, but the rotation makes up for it. A good goal for them might be 95.
↵They are predicting four fewer wins for the Braves this season. I understand having concerns about defense and young relievers in the back of the bullpen, but they will have added offense, and I don't see much regression in the pen. I'm not sure their weaknesses are worth four fewer wins.
↵The Marlins at 84 wins looks pretty solid. The Mets at 80 wins also looks good, though I may go even lower than that. Nobody cares what the Nationals prediction is.
↵Hank Aaron has no love for the Braves in his predictions. He sees a Giants-Red Sox World Series. He did say the Braves will have a good season, so there's that.
↵A Pirates fan is suing the Braves, according to MLB.com. The fan, Elmer Collins, is suing due to getting 11 teeth knocked out and suffering a broken jaw after getting attacked by a group of fans at a Braves game in 2008. He claims he made two complaints to security about the group, only to be ignored, and he was later attacked. The Braves appear to be fighting this one.
↵↵"We are confident that our personnel acted appropriately, and will continue to vigorously defend this matter which was voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiff in November of 2010 and has been re-filed," Marshall said.
