The Thrashers-Winnipeg Thing, Jason Heyward And Brian McCann, And NFL Lockout: Around The Perimeter

Thrashers: You may have heard the Atlanta Thrashers have a lot going on right now. The city of Winnipeg is keeping a close eye on the team's financial situation, with one interested party running a blog devoted to importing an NHL team. Billing itself as "the home of the return of the Jets campaign," it's ... well, that's what it is. For the record, Sacramento Kings fans can sympathize with Atlanta's situation.

Braves: Our own Rob Neyer (still love typing that!) has been putting together an all-decade team -- an all this-decade team, not last-decade team -- and is struggling to come up with any competition at all for Jason Heyward at right field. He also describes Brian McCann as "perpetually underrated" and "on a Hall of Fame path." Oh, and says the Braves are a good playoffs bet.

Also, Hank Aaron has made his World Series pick: San Francisco Giants vs. Boston Red Sox.

↵

Falcons: It's hard to say a NFL lockout would benefit any of the league's franchises, but the Atlanta Falcons could be hurt less than almost any other team. The Falcoholic explains.

Hawks: Josh Smith has gotten a lot of credit this year for being an improved perimeter shooter, but Hoopinion reveals all that outside shooting, no matter how decent it has become, is still a detriment to Smoove's productivity.
