Allen Iverson At Wet Willie's, Big Ten Vs. SEC Academics, And Braves Interviews: Around The Perimeter

NBA: Allen Iverson reportedly spent most of All-Star Weekend by himself, staring down bottles at Wet Willies on Piedmont Road. Iverson's long been drawn to the city, especially to its establishments that serve up the sauce. It's sad that one of the best players in NBA history was alone at a bar instead of sitting courtside in L.A.

Carmelo Anthony is a member of the New York Knicks. Shouldn't that mean New York now has the Eastern Conference's best forward tandem? Not even top two, says Tom Ziller.

Braves: Talking Chop has a passel of quick video interviews from spring training, including one with Jason Heyward and another with Peter Moylan. Dan Uggla and Fredi Gonzalez interviews are also in the mix.

Also, the national Brian McCann noise is starting to ramp up. Here's a New York Times writeup from yesterday.

SEC: Sort of think Auburn's placement in Andy Hutchins' preseason top 25 is more of a token thing. You'd hate to see the defending champs start the year unranked, wouldn't you?

And here's the thing I want to know about this academic comparison of SEC and Big Ten schools: why couldn't the Big Ten scholar come up with the average for the numbers in the second-to-last column? (Maybe because they're pretty much the same for both conferences once you total them up?)
