NBA Trades, Damon Evans' Wow Factor, And The NFC South: Around The Perimeter

Hawks: Tom Ziller lists the Washington Wizards in the winners column in his NBA trade deadline wrapup, which doesn't necessarily make the Atlanta Hawks losers, entirely. The Bullets are loading up (nice!) on draft picks, with the stops in D.C. made by Kirk Hinrich and Mike Bibby affording the team a chance to build around John Wall.

Braves: Talking Chop is set to bring back its View From Your Seat series, trotting out a slideshow from last year's pics.

Also, David O'Brien looks into the assemblage of ex-managers Fredi Gonzalez has put together on his staff. If the skipper ever needs to take a day off, I think there's somebody in there who can cover for him.

↵

Dawgs: Mark Richt made an ill-advised comment yesterday about Georgia's new Butts-Mehre facility upgrades. He cited dishonorably discharged (discharge!) AD Damon Evans' yearning for the new building to have a "wow factor," leading to a spree of comedy.

Also from EDSBS, ACC schools as Biblical figures. Garnet And Black Attack's SEC version, in case you missed it.

↵

Thrashers: Litter Box Cats presents an excellent piece on the Thrashers and Panthers efforts to build hockey cities in the Southeast -- an NFL lockout might help with that.

↵

Falcons: The Onion presents Michael Vick's surprise at how quickly everyone has forgiven him, and Canal Street Chronicles looks into the NFL's most competitive division.
