Braves Vs. Astros Score: Jordan Schafer RBI Single Has Braves Ahead 1-0 After Five

A RBI single by Jordan Schafer in the third has the Braves ahead 1-0 after five innings.

With two outs in the third, Diory Hernandez doubled off Brandon Lyon, which was followed by Schafer's single that drove him home.

Nate McLouth singled in the first and was hit by a pitch in his second at bat. Jason Heyward doubled to deep right in the second inning off Brett Myers for the only other Braves hit so far. The reserves have yet to enter the game on offense.

Tommy Hanson allowed a triple to Hunter Pence in the first but left him there by getting Carlos Lee to strike out. Brian Bogusevic singled with one out in the second, but Hanson picked him off. So it was two pretty clean innings for Hanson, who didn't walk any and struck out the one.

Eric O'Flaherty induced three straight groundouts in the third against the 8-9-1 hitters. Jonny Venters gave up a two-out walk to Lee in the fourth but otherwise pitched a solid inning against the middle of the Astros lineup. Stephen Marek got three quick outs in the fifth against the lower half of the order.
