Kenshin Kawakami, Takashi Saito Impacted By Japanese Earthquake And Tsunami

Dodger Thoughts writes on the Japanese players on the Dodgers and how the quake and tsunami have impacted them.

Former Braves reliever Takashi Saito has yet to reach his parents, and he hasn't been able to since the quake. Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda has yet to reach his brother but believes him to be OK. Kuroda, like all Japanese players, are certainly concerned about friends and family of them and others, including former New York Mets infielder Kazuo Matsui and former Tampa Bay Rays infielder Akinori Iwamura.

According to David O'Brien, Kenshin Kawakami has contacted his family and said they are all fine and weren't affected by the quake. This is certainly good news for Kawakami, who is scheduled to appear in his first spring game today against the Yankees.

It was also mentioned by O'Brien that Kawakami is not from the area affected by the quake.

Thoughts and prayers go out to those affected in Japan.
