Recapping the events of April 11:
Braves second baseman Dan Uggla is a buy-low option for fantasy owners (link). Matt Stroup of Rotoworld makes the case that Uggla is historically a slow starter while May and June have been his best months.
Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman will be placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday (link). Zimmerman suffered an abdominal strain Saturday. His replacement from the minors is not known yet.
The Mets could be sellers at the deadline if they fall out of contention (link). That means possible trade pieces include Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran, Francisco Rodriguez and Mike Pelfrey.
Rockies 7, Mets 6
(NYM) David Wright: 2-3, HR, 2 RBI
(NYM) Mike Pelfrey: 5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 3 K
(COL) Troy Tulowitzki: 2-4, HR, 3 RBI
- The Mets moved to 4-6 on the season. The Rockies scored three in the eighth off Bobby Parnell, and a comeback attempt by the Mets in the home half fell a run short.
- Jose Reyes recorded two triples in spacious Citi Field.
- Mike Pelfrey has allowed at least four runs in each of his three starts this year.
The Phillies and Nationals square off with a three-game series starting Tuesday. The Braves and Marlins begin their series Tuesday. The Rockies and Mets continue their series, as well.
