Mets Vs. Braves Score: Freddie Freeman Homer Gives Braves 4-2 Lead Through Six Innings

The Mets scored a run in the fifth and sixth to come back to within one through 5 1/2, but Freddie Freeman went deep in the home half to make it 4-2 Braves through six innings.

Two singles by the Mets set up a fielder's choice RBI for Jose Reyes in the fifth when he beat out a double play. New York added a run in the sixth on a RBI double by Willie Harris to bring them back to within one.

Freeman gave the Braves a little breathing room with a solo homer in the home half of the sixth. Atlanta has scored all four of their runs on solo home runs.

Derek Lowe finished his day with six innings, allowing two runs on five hits while walking two and striking out four. He threw 99 pitches and was set to face the top of the order by the end of the seventh, so it was a smart move. Lowe ended the day with seven groundouts and three flyouts.

Pat Misch gave up the home run to Freeman in the sixth. He has pitched both the fifth and sixth innings, with the homer his only hit allowed.
