Peter Moylan To Have MRI, Jason Bay May Be Activated, Nationals Sweep Doubleheader: Braves Cup Of Coffee

Recapping the events of April 17:

Braves reliever Peter Moylan will undergo an MRI on his back Monday (link). Moylan was placed on the disabled list with a lower back strain, and the MRI will give us a better idea of the severity.

The Marlins think starter Javier Vazquez's drop in velocity is a mechanical flaw (link).

Marlins third baseman Donnie Murphy has a bone bruise on his left knee (link). Murphy will likely sit Tuesday.

The Mets will speak with outfielder Jason Bay before deciding whether to activate him for Tuesday (link). It probably shouldn't take much to convince the Mets considering how bad they're playing right now.

Mets starter Dillon Gee pitched without any of his gear Sunday (link). Gee will receive at least one more start for New York while Chris Young sits on the disabled list.

The Phillies are confident that starter Roy Oswalt will make his next start (link).

Nationals reliever Todd Coffey was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left calf (link). Collin Balester was called up.
