Braves Vs. Dodgers Final Score: Eight-Run Ninth Seals Win For Atlanta, 10-1

After five scoreless innings between the two teams, the Braves broke through with 10 late runs to even the series with a 10-1 win.

Brandon Beachy rebounded from two rough outings quite nicely, pitching six shutout innings on two hits, unintentionally walking one and striking out seven. Both hits were doubles, but neither scored. He induced six groundouts to five flyouts while throwing 111 pitches. It was the Beachy of old, which the Braves needed desperately as they struggled to put anything together against Hiroki Kuroda.

Kuroda pitched five shutout innings before allowing two runs on solo homers in the sixth and seventh to Martin Prado and Freddie Freeman. Kuroda was likely left in too long, evident by the home run balls he gave up, but he pitched well to that point. His final line was 6.1 innings, allowing five hits and two runs, walking three and striking out four. He induced seven groundouts to three flyouts.

The Braves scored all 10 of their runs between the sixth and ninth innings. After the two home runs in the sixth and seventh, they added eight in the ninth. Two came on a home run by Eric Hinske, one came on a RBI single by Brian McCann, three came on a home run by Dan Uggla, one came on a RBI single by Alex Gonzalez and Hinske capped things off with a RBI single his second time up in the inning.

Prado went 2-3 with a home run, RBI and two walks. McCann went 2-3 with one RBI and two walks. Uggla's lone hit was a three-run homer, and he added a walk. Gonzalez went 1-4 with a RBI and walk. Hinske added two RBI on the home run and one on a single. Freeman went 2-4 with a double, homer and RBI.

The trend here is walks, which is something the Braves have been short on so far this season. They reached base via free pass eight times in this game.

Behind Beachy, Scott Linebrink struggled in the seventh, giving up three hits and a run while recording just one out. Jonny Venters came in and shut the door for the final two outs with the tying run at third base. He also pitched a scoreless eighth. Cristhian Martinez pitched a scoreless ninth.

Kenley Jansen was charged with five runs in the ninth for the Dodgers. Ramon Troncoso was charged with three.
