A run in the seventh for the Padres tied the game at three and has led to extra innings for a second straight game for the Braves. The score is 3-3 through 11 innings.
With the Braves ahead 3-2 in the seventh, Eric O'Flaherty walked the leadoff batter, Cameron Maybin. After a sac bunt moved him to second, Chase Headley struck out for two outs. But Scott Linebrink was brought in for who knows why and gave up a run-scoring double to Ryan Ludwick that tied the game at three.
O'Flaherty was charged with the run but Linebrink allowed it to score with two outs in the seventh. Jonny Venters pitched a scoreless eighth with a strikeout. Cory Gearrin made his major league debut with two perfect innings, including two strikeouts and nothing reaching the outfield. Cristhian Martinez pitched a scoreless 11th.
The Braves were set down 15 in a row at one point, but a two-out single by Alex Gonzalez in the 10th snapped the streak.
Mike Adams, Heath Bell, Luke Gregerson and Ernesto Frieri have each pitched a scoreless inning for the Padres.
